Kamran has often supported his brother publicly

Discarded cricketer Umar Akmal thanked his brother and former Test cricketer Kamran Akmal for helping him out through thick and thin.

Umar, who last played an international match back in 2019 against Sri Lanka in Lahore, is working hard nowadays to make the national team comeback.

While sharing a training video with his brother Kamran, Umar thanked him for all the help and support.

"I'm very thankful to you my brother. Kamran Akmal your support means a lot to me. You stood by me in every difficult hour. You helped me in every onerous time. I got to learn a lot from you. You always give me time despite being busy. Thank you so much for always being with me through thick and thin," he wrote.

Kamran has often supported his brother publicly. Earlier this year after Umar showed resistance in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 while representing Quetta Gladiators, Kamran questioned national team management for ignoring the middle-order batter.

"I am talking about Umar. They announced the T20 team and didn't include him in the squad; why? He played last year's PSL and this year's PSL in rather tough conditions. He tried his best to deliver whenever given an opportunity, a chance, limited amount of balls or overs, etc," he made a critical statement after Pakistan's team for T20I series against New Zealand was announced.

"Because again, it is clear as a bell that performance isn't the criteria here since players with scores around 30,32 as their highest are still part of the team. This is indeed not fair to Umar, and I'd request chairman and chief selector, Haroon Rasheed, to think about it and consider it closely," the former wicketkeeper batter said.
